H1N1 (Swine Flu) Information
Published on 10/21/2009 6:18:00 PM

If your player or another family member appears to have flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headaches, chills, fatigue), they should stay home and schedule an appointment with their primary care physician.

We ask that you use caution and exercise good judgment regarding attendance at practices and games.   H1N1 is particularly risky for kids who are asthmatics or who have otherwise compromised immune systems.   Patients who have a history of bronchitis, or pneumonia are also at a higher risk. We ask that you please consider the health of your fellow families and err on the side of caution and refrain from team activities for 5-7 days if possible.

The general guidelines are that once your fever breaks and you are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers (such as Tylenol) you are most likely okay to return to normal routines. However, most doctors advise patients to continue to rest if they are still coughing, feeling achy or exhibiting symptoms.
