Published on 10/23/2009 3:06:00 PM

Ice Station Valencia is proudly partnered with the California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA)

to bring you CALIFORNIA HOCKEY DAY on November 7, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Kids ages 4-9 years old can try hockey for free!

The Valencia Express is asking our hockey families to help promote and support California Hockey Day in Valencia.

How can you do this?

  • Let anyone you know who has a child ages 4-9 years old know about California Hockey Day at ISV
  • Volunteer to help participants dress in gear and get ready for the ice
  • Volunteer on the ice to teach them the game of hockey

If you are interested in participating or volunteering, please contact Scott Allegrini at 661-775-8686 x 204 or by this email link.

Information provided by Ice Station Valencia is below

CALIFORNIA HOCKEY DAY

OneGoal and USA Hockey are creating a market blitz for California Hockey Day on November 7, 2009 to give boys and girls ages 4-9 an opportunity to try the game of hockey for free. We are looking for local associations to partner with rinks in California to host a free trial at a consistent time of 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. local time. The goal is to get as many first-time players on the ice and later transition them to each host site’s full-time programs.

Try Hockey for Free

California Amateur Hockey Association has joined with OneGoal, USA Hockey, Anaheim DucksSan Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, Ontario Reign and Stockton Thunder to create an opportunity on November 7, 2009, for families to come to a local rink and Try Hockey for Free! This free trial has been created specifically for children ages 4-9 years old who are interested in trying hockey for the first time.

While we encourage those who have access to a set of equipment, please feel free to bring it. For those who don’t have equipment, participants only need to bring the following:

  • Helmet
  • A pair of gloves (they don’t need to be hockey gloves – mittens are fine)
  • A parent (to complete the registration form)
  • Skates (if possible – see the list below for rinks that can provide rentals)
  • A Smile
